RESUMEN

The first catalytic enantioselective [5+1] cycloaddition reactions of C,N-cyclic azomethine imines with isocyanides are reported herein. The method displays a broad substrate scope and atom-economy. A series of chiral tetrahydroisoquinoline containing indole skeletons were obtained in up to 90% yield with 95% ee under mild reaction conditions. A possible catalytic model was also proposed.

RESUMEN

Video game-based therapies are widely used in rehabilitation. Compared with conventional bilateral upper limb training (CBULT), the effects of video game-based bilateral upper limb training (VGBULT) on brain cortical activation and functional connectivity, still not fully clear. We have developed a VGBULT system, and measured the brain activity of 20 elderly subjects (10 male, mean age = 62.4 ± 5.8) while performing CBULT and VGBULT tasks by using functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). The results showed that the cerebral cortex of the two groups both showed significant activation (p < 0.05), compared with the baseline; In the VGBLUT group, the activation of motor cortex (MC) and prefrontal cortex (PFC) was stronger, and the functional connectivity between PFC and MC was also enhanced. This study showed that VGBULT is potentially more beneficial for the elderly neural activities and cognitive control, and provides a theoretical basis for future research and development of such rehabilitation products. Moreover, fNIRS is a reliable tool for tracking brain activation in the evaluation of retraining regimens.

RESUMEN

Fabrication of dual-emitting materials for H2S sensing under environmental and biological conditions is currently of great interest. In this work, a new chemically stable metal supramolecular complex [Zn2(pda)2(H2O)3]·(H2O)0.5 (Znpda, pda = 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarboxylic acid), with accessible uncoordinated carboxylic oxygen sites, is solvothermally synthesized. It can serve as a host in luminescent hybrid composites. By incorporating Eu3+ and Cu2+ in the supramolecular coordination network, we obtained the dual-emitting hybrid material Eu3+/Cu2+@Znpda, which simultaneously shows intense ligand and weak Eu3+ emissions in HEPES buffer solution. Since H2S can easily chelate with Cu2+ and recover the blocked "antenna effect" between the ligand and Eu3+, Eu3+/Cu2+@Znpda possesses both the turn-on and ratiomectric fluorescence response to H2S. Accordingly, we designed an IMPLICATION logic gate for H2S recognition by employing the fluorescence intensity ratio between the ligand and Eu3+ as the output signal. In addition, Eu3+/Cu2+@Znpda shows a fast response (<1 min) and high sensitivity (1.45 µM) to H2S over other interfering species in the HEPES buffer solution, highlighting its potential use for H2S sensing under environmental and biological conditions.

RESUMEN

A route to the preparation of poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP)-stabilized ruthenium colloids by refluxing ruthenium(III) chloride in low boiling point alcohols was developed. Deep purple colloids with shuttle-like ruthenium particles were also synthesized. XPS measurement verified the nanoparticles were in the metallic state. The morphology of metal nanoparticles was characterized by UV-visible absorption spectrophotometry, TEM and XRD.
